One of the most bittersweet moments for me these past few years has been the last day of school. That day is today. Steph and I love the boys' Catholic school. We adore the boys' teachers, and we will miss them taking care of our little buds each day. Boo moves on to Kindergarten in August, and JMan moves on to PK-4. Squish, well Squish is too young for Catholic school right now. One more year. He likes his daycare at least. He also likes hockey we've discovered during the #TBLightning #GOBOLTS playoff run to the Stanley Cup. He also yells, "ICE! ICE!" I don't know who told him it was ice. I don't know who told him that the players skate on it. But yes, it's ICE! Wish I could post the videos easily here, but WIX is being frustrating. Need to switch platforms soon as this is rather restricting. So for now, I'll just:

Steph and I also both work all summer. Yeah, we don't really get to take summer vacations, especially with Boy #4 on the way this year at the end of August. I actually get irked by all the "75 fun things to do during summer" "helpful" articles, or the 21 things not to miss doing with your kids this summer type of articles or posts. 75? Are you freaking kidding me? You realize that we barely get 10 weeks of "summer?" You can't even accomplish that list knocking off one a day! Did they realize about half of the 21 locations require you to pack your kids up and drive for more than 60 minutes each way? Yeah, no.

I'm going to make my quick takes on 7 things I'll actually be glad if I accomplish this summer. This one's for all the double working parents who don't get a summer.

Sleeping past 6:30am. Because you don't have to be at school before half the world gets to work.

Maybe starting someone on piano lessons. Have to get them to turn around first.

Eat breakfast every morning and enjoy it.

Get out there and exercise again. Not in bad shape, but one of those let's catch it now thing. Time to shed that male sympathy weight during wifey's pregnancy.

Pray more. Every time I walk out in the sweltering heat, I'll first thank God that I can walk right back in to the cool A/C. Then I'll thank him we don't have 6-8 months of winter. In all seriousness though, summer is a good time to refocus that part of one's relationship with God.

Don't read a single one of those 75 or 21 summer things to do list posts. OR... if that temptation is too strong, I think I'll limit our family goal to maybe three of them. Maybe I'll interject a few of my own that include

Make it through the next 10 weeks so we can get back to the routine.
